 Commissioning

We welcome inquiries to info@frettonhandley.com regarding commissions.

If you’re interested in commissioning work, then it helps us if you’re able to send as many details surrounding the project as possible in your initial email. As a guide these may include:

Images: If you’re looking to commission a restoration project, then images of any damage or condition are essential. If you’re interested in commissioning a new project, then references to pre-existing sculpture or lettering can be useful assets in understanding your tastes and complement a written description.

Dimensions: If the project will occupy a particular position or needs to conform to certain dimensions, please send through the height, width, and depth measurements of the space and the intended size of the project. If the project will be displayed at a particular height please also list the height at which it will be hung, as this will affect the design. If you’re unsure of the dimensions, we can help you refine what’s right for you.

Description: A description of what you have in mind is essential – the more detail you can include at the outset the better.

Material: If you know which material you’d like to use, please include this in your initial email. However, you may not know which material will best suit the project, and we can advise on broad categories such as wood, stone, metal and casting materials, as well as individual species and types of stone.

Budget: Having an idea of your budget helps us to refine which materials, scale and level of detail will give you the best results. Nearly all projects can be scaled to fit the budget you have available.
